I am working with the Fuel Cell Management Systems team. I am doing a project on centrifugal compressor modeling in MATLAB. This is a part of the ongoing research in turbochargers in Mercedes Benz.

Modeled a centrifugal compressor for its performance characteristics taking into account all the losses (Internal and Parasitic) and validate the results with the experimental work done.
Future Work-

Dynamic Modeling of the compressor for varying mass flows and speeds. Investigation for surge control & thermal behaviour by implementing active and feedback controls.

Variations in operating conditions will also be studied so as to extend the stable operating envelop.

Modeling for High Temperature Turbines (proposed)
The basic objective behind the work will be to develop and validate dynamic models for industrial scale centrifugal compressors.
