Engineering coll—I was ranked in the top 1,000 students amongst all 50,000 students who appeared for the BITSAT examination, the online examination which happened to be my gateway to one of the best Engineering colleges in India, BITS-Pilani.
Right from childhood I was fascinated by automobiles, behemoth structures like bridges, power plants, sky scrappers etc, and I thought there would be nothing more AWESOME than contributing in their making. I took MECHANICAL ENGINEERING.
Presently I am studying in my final year of BE(Hons) Mechanical Engineering with a CGPA of 9.65 thus far and I am the branch topper (in all single degree mechanical students) in my college. I am in top 3% of the all the students in the college. Apart from academic achievements, BITS-Pilani has helped me in honing my attitude towards innovation and also sharpening my leadership skills. With its extravagant laboratories, BITS-Pilani enhanced my interest in research. Due to flexibility of taking electives like Lab Oriented Projects (LOPs) I got a chance of working under faculties like a research assistant. My project on ‘Modal analysis of plate with holes’ will speak more about this experience. With faculty guidance, projects in areas of my interest like vehicle control systems and design & vibrations became feasible. Our course work also included design and FEM projects that contributed largely in enhancing my interests in above mentioned fields.
My overall personality development and inclination towards research can be seen as a continuous process which started during my school days, developed after getting exposure during my higher secondary and was honed at BITS-Pilani University.
